Hectic Week

So here I am changing my NLP project to one of NLG. This is the case there is a weather summary report that we would have to create.
 So there are no NLG tools available for python . We will have to make do with what ever nltk offers. For the ML project, I am planning on to see different things like the language R. Currently doing a scribing work for NLP. Case is that it has taken up my whole weekend. One weekend that I wanted for learning things in ML and NLP.

Software working now

With the help of Jyothis(again), got to download the nltk_data set , so now it will figuring out how to study the problem given in hand of relationship extraction.

My other software required i.e. jython, java etc are working.

My other part of job would be to look at Open Calais for entity extraction and Protege for ontology chart creation.

Word sense disambiguation techniques or WordNet similarity for word sense disambiguation.

Can use the following tools  for semantic entity extraction.
1) GATE
2) UIMA (Apache)
3) NLTK
4) Protage
5) Standford Named Entity Tagger
6) Alchemy NLP APIS
7) Open Calais

nltk_data not downloading properly

A rountine job is the downloading of nltk_data which contains among other things- tokenizers and stemmers, parsers most importantly corpus.

There is a problem in the downloading of it.

Applets are working in jython and java.
 Phew! some things are going on smooth.

So my applets are working, both Java and Jython.

There is a lot of thanks to Jyothis for this. He set up the environment for me.

So now should look through  a few sorting animations and then should go through the real stuff, as in whether I can do this work with the real stuff. Should check out matplotlib for doing assignment in Machine Learning.

I am spending a lot of time with Jyothis. I mean he is really good at Math and at programming. So he was basically telling me how wrong I was in thinking about the height of the tree in heapsort.

Projects

Ok so regarding semantic entity extraction.

Seriously thinking about looking into relationship extraction and finally putting it onto an ontology chart.

Should check into this software called Open Calise which the B.Tech students suggested.

Quite a few amount of work to be done.
Point is there is already a corpus which has a training set for relationship extraction.

Note to ML project. Applets not currently working in java.

So applets working in jython is out of question.

Another matter of fact is that hope to work on applets over the week end.

Nothing much except for the fact that Sphinx documentation generator has been working fine.

Currently using a lot of help from Jyothis for installation of different things in Ubuntu. I am not a natural with Ubuntu as I am with Fedora.

So there is the teething problems that I am having with Ubuntu.
Rest are good.

New Projects at IITM

Hello

So I am at IIT Madras doing my PhD.

So the current jobs I have include learning about semantic web, studying lisp, and doing two projects- one for NLP(Natural Language Processing) the other for ML(Machine Learning).

So I am thinking of doing a semantic entity extraction for NLP project whereas for ML, I am thinking about doing an animation related work. Some thing similar to the work I had done during last semester for Web Programming.

When something interesting turns up, I shall give it a go.

Inspiration from a M.Tech Junior

Hello

This blog is an inspiration from my M.Tech junior Veeresh. By the way right now I am an ad-hoc faculty at NITC.

Now Veeresh has posted the applications that he has worked on.

So, I will be following his footsteps in that repect, you see there are a few software applications that I work on which definitely needs a documentation.

Because of the lack of a documentation I lost my M.Tech project on Automatic Summarization. If I had atleast updated my work on time, I would have not lost out my project completely.

Anyway regarding my project, I have to start from blank.

By the way, I am undergoing a workshop in ARM microcontroller
